It’s not for nothing that the TT Circuit Assen is referred to as the “Cathedral of motorsport”. It is the only current MotoGP circuit designed specifically for motorbikes – and it shows. Its smooth flow, the sometimes slightly superelevated curves and the combination of very fast and slow stretches will bring joy to every racer’s heart. With the very narrow “Strubben”, and the spectacular chicane before the start/finish line which has been the deciding factor in many races, it is a real challenge for any amateur or professional racer. This is why the demanding TT Circuit Assen is also the only racing circuit worldwide where world championship races have been held every year since the introduction of the Motorcycle World Championship in 1949.
